I was thinking of ways to make the class different and appealing for them and I came up with the idea of creating a special playlist for this class, with songs. Songs in Spanish:. I thought it could be a HIT, and we could connect in a different level. So I hand picked songs in Spanish from different parts of the world, most of them from their time. I had Chavela Vargas, Joan Manuel Serrat, Simon Diaz, etc... hoping it would make them feel at home, and all connected through our language. Guess what! It didn't go well... *O* I asked for feedback, of course, and their faces where not friendly. :S A lady took the time to explain the music brought many memories, not all of them happy. Nostalgia filled their hearts, and they were totally on their minds... Remembering. It was such a valuable lesson... - That´s why music in class is mostly instrumental, I thought. If not Mantras... I definitely wanted to share this experience!
