The Lesson within the Experience:.

I have been working on staying away from scripts for my classes. Being a nerd as I am, it is a big step.

I realise this group is so perfect for breaking the script. Their appreciation for our presence is so great, they do not care what we do. Of course we want to do the best we can, but it is quite comforting not having the pressure. They love this hour of breathing and gentle moves, for themselves. Just the breathing is so effective, even if the workout is not so good, the breathing - when guided - makes up for everything. Its all smiles, and "thank you"s, at the end. Such a loving environment to make progress exploring new ways, new moves, new music, new mantras, new things...!

This past Monday, we spent most of the time practicing balance postures. Using the chair - just one hand on the chair as a support - We did Tree pose, and also worked with taking the knee towards the chest, and then without touching the floor, bringing the foot back towards the buttocks to grab the instep, targeting the hip abductors as I learned watching this short documentary, I recommend: https://youtu.be/z16-HV5bnw8 Let's keep the conversation going...
